Acupuncture

Pictures coming soon
We are pleased to be offering Acupuncture therapy for our patients. Dr. Frank Bousaid completed an intense training program in 2003 that included classroom work, case studies, and an internship. He is also interested in the use of Chinese herbs.

What is acupuncture?Used in veterinary practice for thousands of years in China, Acupuncture could be defined as the insertion of needles into specific points on the body to induce a healing effect.
How does acupuncture work?In keeping with ancient Chinese medicine, health problems are present due to an imbalance of energy in the body. Acupuncture is believed to restore this balance of energies, assisting the body in healing.
Will acupuncture hurt my pet?For cats and dogs the insertion of the small acupuncture needles is virtually painless. Once in place there should be no pain. The acupuncture needles may cause some sensations like numbness or a tingly feeling, which may cause a little discomfort to some animals, but many others relax during treatment.
Common conditions treated with acupuncture:
  • Musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis, degenerative joint disease
  • Skin problems such as allergic dermatitis
  • Respiratory illnesses such as asthma
  • Gastrointestinal problems such as colitis
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • And Many More.....
