Our History
Redwood Animal Hospital was created under its current form and management in August of
1992. Through the building and management expertise of Dr. Gary Ade of Coeur
d'Alene, Idaho, our new facility was built and opened in October, 1993. Since its
inception, the hospital has been directed by Dr. Ken Jacobsen, who purchased the hospital in 1999. Our vision was to
create a state-of-the-art, full service hospital to serve residents of the greater
Eastside neighborhoods. Over the past several years, we have evolved into a
multi-associate practice that is composed of doctors with different interests and
strengths.
The goal, of course, is to provide the best possible veterinary care
for a wide variety of clients and and their pets, and to do
so in a friendly and professional environment. We have
developed relationships with multiple local specialists (surgeons,
internists, radiologists, opthamologists, dermatologists and
neurologists) so that even the most complex cases can be readily
diagnosed and treated. We also have a modern boarding
facility for cats and dogs with an emphasis on boarding animals
with medical needs. With the changing face of veterinary
medicine and the increasing needs of our clients challenging
us, we expect a continued process of evolution at our hospital.
